Category: Religion

The Bhagavad-Gita is the oldest scripture on the planet. It encompasses lessons given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna about Karma, Bhakti, Dhyana, Yoga, Mantra, Gyana and Buddhi Yoga during the Mahabharata war, which took place 5000 years ago in Kurukshetra, India. The purpose of the Bhagavad-Gita was to teach lessons to Arjuna and us, in relation to real life duties. Arjuna was a typical human being scared of performing real life duties; therefore Lord Krishna gave him the knowledge to purify his mind and body. You might be wondering why I am telling you this story which you might know. Because there is a big misconception ‘Gita is applicable for persons who are in advanced stages of their life and not for young generation.’ This is not true; The Bhagavad-Gita is applicable for all human beings in all stages of life. Our modern life style makes us busy, loaded with lot of duties, tension, and pressure. Everyone is suffering from some sort of pain & sufferings. Gita is Vedic Teachings of various theories to conquer these problems. Gita talks about “not having desires” or “one must have mastery over ones desires.” Initially, this reflects that one should not possess any desire to have anything in life. But, it is not true! Actually it means that anyone may have desire but to go with or without depends upon the individual.
