Exam Procedure The UPSC

Category: Business

Exam is conducted in three phases: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Personality Test/Interview. Preliminary Exam: Preliminary Exam is the first stage of the UPSC exam and consists of two papers - General Studies (GS) Paper-I and CSAT (Civil Service Aptitude Test) Paper-II. Both tests are objective questions (multiple-choice questions) and are tested on the same day. GS Paper-I covers topics such as history, geography, economics, science, technology, and current affairs, while CSAT Paper-II assesses a candidate's analytical and comprehensible skills. Main exam: Candidates who pass the preliminary exam are eligible to take the main exam. The main exam consists of nine papers, including two qualifying papers – English and any Indian language. The other seven articles cover topics such as essay writing, general education, and electives (chosen by applicants). The main examination is of a subjective type and takes place over five to seven days. Personality Test/Interview : Applicants who pass Main Exam are eligible to take the Personality Test/Interview. The interview primarily assesses the character traits, leadership qualities and communication skills of the candidate. The interview panel is made up of members of the UPSC and other experts from various fields. The final selection of candidates is based on the performance of the candidates in the three stages of the examination - preliminary examination, main examination and personality test/interview. UPSC separately publishes results and cutoff scores for each exam session. for more info join chanakya IAS academy is best ias academy in pune
