Fund Raising marketing Secrets for NGO: Key Points to Remember
Category: Technology
By- Anirudha Bhakat Ch We live in a very highly competitive world. The competitors are leaving no stone unturned to stand along as we are trying to grab the attention towards us. Marketing a cell phone might be easier, but marketing an organization isn’t. You always need a guide when it come to effective marketing in the social sector. It not only requires a planned strategy, but also a creative content to get the crowd. But, is it easy to crack creative ideas when the subject matter is disheartening. Here, I’m going to share some campaigns that I came across recently. And truly speaking I’m convinced such campaign ideas can change the picture. 1.) Trend Matters Any serious issue can be highlighted with an innovative sense of humor, or say in a delightful way. And Indians know it best. Your top priority is generating support for your campaign. What you need to do is stop thinking from your point of view and think on the lines of the targeted audience. Get a clear picture of what they want and to what they will respond. It is therefore very important to keep track of the latest online trends to make sure that your content is easy to share. Your message should be loud and clear. Keeping in mind that the trends remain changing constantly. 2.) Invest time in offline activities Don’t be online all the time. No doubt it is an essential tool of marketing, but it is equally important for you to invest time in offline activities. Your offline activities will contribute to your online presence. You should generate content which have the potentiality to go viral on the web. The catchiest content for you in this regard is content in the form of image, video, quotes, info-graphics etc. In order to generate such content you will have to give time to offline activities, and if you do, you will get the desired clicks. 3.) Make an Appeal The world of internet is perhaps the best platform to study human behaviour. In order to create something an effective content, think from their point of view. It will not only help you in creating an effective content, but will also help you in making things easier for them and for your organization. Use humour. A good sense of humour is always appreciated throughout the globe. You can convey a serious message in a light hearted way and ensure that it will go viral. 4.) Shock Therapy Works!!! Shock treatment does work in the field of medical science, particularly when it is related to the human psychology. Though using shock treatment in NGO marketing is highly debatable, many experts are of the opinion that it really does work. So, what’s wrong in giving it a try? However, it is suggested to use this only once in a blue moon and that too to address an issue that is of grave concern. Look at this WWF print ad for an anti-poaching campaign. 5.) Roll out the chart Info-graphics are always effective and they are a visual way to create a summary of facts that you want the people to know. Instead of writing down every minute detail just put everything on an info-graph. 6.) Are you online? I remember, at point no. 2, I asked you to invest more time in offline activities. Well, that doesn’t mean you will not go online at all. To make sure you keep on trending, you will have to ensure active online participation of the members linked with you page or profile. Keep in mind, NGOs operating with similar causes should not be seen as competition — you’re all working together to achieve a common goal. Building online communities and collaborating with similar organizations is easy on social media platforms and other online forums. 7.) To the Point Deliver your message directly. Don’t try to be more creative. Everything depends on the targeted audience, so you need to think from their point of view. Be as simple as you can and stop playing with words in the content. NGO is something opposite of a profit-driven business, but at the end of the day both needs to be treated as a brand with a mission. Effective marketing for NGOs requires a lot more creative thinking in order to create catchy content that will get people to share it. Each content should serve as a tool to achieve the main goals of raising awareness and encouraging donations To read more such articles, signup to www.myspark.info/services.
