Sometimes Heart Attack can be sudden and intense, where no one doubts or understands what’s happening. However most of the heart attacks start gradually, with very mild pain or little uneasiness. Most often people don’t even understand what’s happening and they wait too long before getting help or visiting a doctor. Here are few warning signs that can mean a heart attack is near: § Chest discomfort: Most of the times heart attack involves little uneasiness or discomfort in the middle of the chest that can last more than few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable heaviness, compressing, fullness or pain. § Discomfort can also be in other parts of upper body. Symptoms can also comprise pain or discomfort in one or both arms, neck, jaw, the back, or stomach. § Shortness of breath with or without chest pain or discomfort. § Other signs can also include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness. As in men, women also experience the most common heart attack symptom chest pain or discomfort. However women are more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, which can include shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, and pain in jaw or back
