How Nicholas Tung Used a Positive Mindset to Attain 7 Figure Financial Freedom

Some successful businessmen find their way into worlds of wealth via conventional measures, relying on family fortunes, old money, and important jobs straight out of their undergraduate careers. However, this storyline doesn’t ring true for everyone, and frankly, it’s a bit outdated. There are also those who find business success via their own measures of working hard and realizing that you can have what you want in life if you really try. And this latter route is the route that Nicholas Tung took. You’ll want to tune into his story, because it’s a truly unique route to business success. Sure, there’s something seemingly fabulous about the idea of the quick and fancy life of Wall Street and big corporations. But isn’t there something even more special about a man who can create his own business world from the ground up? At a very young age, Nicholas Tung realized that the 9 to 5 grind wasn’t for him. The residents in his home town were negative and small-minded and his mindset didn’t fit his current environment. As a young man, he wasn’t exposed to other entrepreneurs and no one in his family shared the importance of building a legacy or creating generational wealth through entrepreneurship. Most of the people in his hometown were happy with just making ends meet. “I didn’t really know the concept of entrepreneurship. Nobody around me was talking about that, and I don’t think I heard the word [entrepreneurship] growing up. From my own observation, it was a small-thinking environment and everyone was pretty negative.” Although Nicholas couldn’t explain it at the time, he knew that he was meant to do more with his life—he was different! Pioneer in the Commercialization of Flea Market? Nicholas Tung would consider himself as part of the founding member for the entire commercialization of the flea market in Singapore, and a pioneer but not due to his sole efforts. There were many other amazing organizers who had contributed to great growth. He briefly spoke that the current CEO of the biggest flea market organizer in Singapore was taught by him during that CEO starting days at Sengkang void deck and although Nicholas believes he is not the full reason for the success. He admits the full success of letting the CEO company be acquired at 7 digits was largely because of the hard work of the CEO, he added “ I would say I made it easier for him”, for the organizer to learn the steps to the industry through few sessions of verbal coaching. At that time, he had sold his first venture and brand. He moved on to serve his national service and pursuing his degree. Along the way, he opened a few side businesses while entering into the IT industry and for the past 7 years spent great time serving the corporate companies. He added it was not easy. He had no mentor and said that if someone would have helped, it would be easier and was very confident his learning curve would have been made shorter. Fast track 2019, Nicholas says he wishes to share and build aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners on strategies to accelerate growth through constant idea generation, proper sales management strategies, and efficient business development processes. Nicholas Tung mentions that he does not believe in fixed scheduling, “ You think you are attending a school? In that case, please go through the educational system who prepares you for a paycheck monthly” When we spoke more with Nicholas, he seems to share a very different methodology between him and other trainers. He cited that he wishes to approach and teach from a practical perspective. He says “Learning should be done anywhere and anytime”. When asked whether he has a “proven-system”? He said if Nokia and Kodak are proven yesterday and are unproven now. As such, he does not believe in any system is proven? You can be successful today, and not tomorrow. You can be successful yesterday but not today. He does not intend to be associated with the two words of “proven-system” as he seems to feel it is promoted with a marketing intent. It is my personal belief. With such a short journey, Nicholas Tung says he is proud that he has a student who did has done $100,000 in ARR in less than 2 months. He says that she is on track to achieve the plan which we devised. When mentioned about his charges, he said that he does not wish to disclose it but it hovers around a 5 digit range and says that he does not take in any students. A Firm Believer of Deep Continuous Learning Nicholas Tung believes that education, perseverance, consistency, and quick thinking all played a major part in his success. In fact, it was the tenacious pursuit of knowledge in the beginning of his career that inspired him to transform his past challenges and frustrations into a force for change in the marketing industry. “Always pursue more knowledge, specifically through mentors. I believe mentors are the cheat codes for life. I try to read two to three hours a day. I also take courses, but I’m not a course junky!” When it comes to perseverance and quality standards, he recognizes that maintaining exceptional standards is imperative to becoming successful in the ever-growing, ever-changing, marketing industry. “The ability to preserve and [uphold] a standard to get things done and make it happen will typically give you what you need to accomplish anything.” With over 14 years of experience in the business industry, Nicholas has acquired and sold several businesses from various industries. Profiting over 7-digits from capital gains and net profits from various businesses. He has since opened up 22Academy Singapore and Nicholas Tung.com to train individuals, sales teams, business owners in business development, marketing, idea conceptualization and monetarization. Today, Nicholas is focused on providing value to clients while assisting entrepreneurs. He knows the road to financial freedom is not easy, but employing a mix of belief and action is the key to success.
