Other health concerns like heart disease, nerve damage, stroke, renal disease, and visual problems may develop as a result over time. If you are obese, decreasing merely 5 to 7 percent of your body weight and engaging in regular, moderate exercise may be able to delay or prevent the development of type 2 diabetes.
