Category: Web Design

Web design involves creating the visual and functional aspects of a website. The web was announced on August 6, 1991; in November 1992, CERN was the first website to go live on the World Wide Web. 1. Layout Grid Systems: Organize content in a clean, structured manner. Popular grid systems include the 12-column grid (used in many frameworks like Bootstrap). Responsive Design: Ensures the website adapts to different screen sizes and devices (desktop, tablet, mobile). F-Layout: A common layout style based on how users tend to scan a page, focusing attention on the top left and the center. 2. Typography Font Choice: Choosing the right fonts that align with the website’s personality and ensure readability. Web-safe Fonts: Fonts that are available across most platforms (e.g., Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman). Font Pairing: Combining two fonts (one for headings, another for body text) that complement each other. 3. Color Theory Primary & Secondary Colors: Create a color palette for the website based on brand guidelines or aesthetics. Contrast: Ensures text is readable by using enough contrast between background and text colors. Psychology of Colors: Different colors evoke different emotions (e.g., blue for trust, red for urgency). 4. Navigation Menus: Horizontal or vertical navigation bars that help users easily move through the site. Breadcrumbs: A secondary navigation that shows the user's location within the site. Search Bar: A quick way for users to find content. 5. User Experience (UX) Ease of Use: Ensuring that users can complete tasks (like making a purchase or finding information) efficiently. Accessibility: Designing for all users, including those with disabilities (e.g., screen reader support, color contrast, keyboard navigation). Interactive Elements: Buttons, sliders, and forms should be designed to be intuitive and provide feedback when interacted with.
